Kosse City Council meeting of Feb. 2, 2010

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the governing body of the City of Kosse, Texas was held on February 2, at the Kosse Community Center at 7:00 p.m. at which time the following council persons were in attendance: Ben Daniell, Mayor; Wendell Jordan, James McCaleb, Richard Bennett.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ben Daniell and a quorum was present. Proper posting of the agenda was confirmed. Consent items were reviewed and James McCaleb made a motion to accept and Wendell Jordan seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The Curfew Ordinance was discussed and it was decided the ordinance would be passed as an emergency ordinance. This ordinance is being put in place because of the very young juveniles who are on the streets late in the afternoon and at night. It has been reported that they are very loud, curse, throw rocks and will not move out of the street for traffic. The motion to pass this ordinance was made by James McCaleb and seconded by Richard Bennett. Motion carried and ordinance was passed as an emergency and will become effective on March 2, 2010, when council members will sign ordinance.

Mayor Danielle spoke for some time on the TCEQ fines and compliance efforts being made by the city.

Mr. Hammett commented on the new road Mr. Ross has built across his property behind Mr. Hammett’s residence. His concern is dust and the unsightly view. He has spoken with Mr. Ross. It should be noted the new road is on private property and is not a city street.

Jordan made motion to adjourn and McCaleb seconded. Meeting adjourned.
