School is starting again soon! On Sunday, July 31 from 2PM - 4PM, at the Kosse Community Center, members of your Kosse Lions Club will provide free vision screenings, free school supplies and refreshments to area students who are screened. There are 10 more chances to enjoy Charitable Bingo in 2022 with 3 more nights scheduled through August! Cash prizes, concessions, raffles, door prizes and bonus games! Bingo starts at 6:00PM with the doors opening at 5:30PM. Bingo nights are hosted and support local non-profit organizations including the Kosse Community Center, the Kosse Heritage Society and the Kosse Volunteer Fire Department. Mark your calendars! Kosse will be celebrating Independence Day on Monday, July 4, 2022! Bring the family out to the Kosse City Park at 6PM for FREE waterslides, burgers, snacks and water. Bonnie & Clyde's Snow Cones truck will be selling their delicious treats as well. The big Kosse Fireworks Show is sponsored by the City and is managed by the Kosse Volunteer Fire Dept. The spectacular show will start at dark. Like everything, fireworks and food have had major price increases. If you'd like to help, please drop off your donation at Kosse City Hall or mail it to the City at P.O. Box 116, Kosse, TX 76653. Due to the terrible fire conditions, the City is asking our residents to not set off fireworks at their homes. Independence Day is a time for celebration and we don't want a tragedy to ruin it for our residents. Come and enjoy the show at City Park. There will also be a Silent Auction for some outstanding items including a Pellet grill, Yeti cooler and accessories, fish fryer, bicycle and other great prizes including several original Bob Wills record albums! The KVFD is counted on to respond when there is a fire, accident or medical emergency. Please support our volunteers!

The Kosse Community Center will host a fundraiser BBQ and dance on Saturday, January 22nd for the benefit of local law enforcement veterans, Mark and Lainie Morris, who lost their home to a fire on Nov 28. The home and all the contents were a total loss and Mark suffered burns and severe cuts but is now recovering.
Brisket, sausage, and side dishes will be served along with raffles and prizes. A special appearance by Gordon Collier will provide a great night of music for all to enjoy starting at 7PM. Serving will began at 11AM at the Community Center. Tickets are $15 a plate and are available at Kosse City Hall, Farmers State Bank, or at the door. Call Brooks at 832-773-8361 for more information.
